SOLEMNITY OF THE EPIPHANY OF THE LORD
JANUARY 7, 2024
My dear St. John the Baptist Parish Family:
The New Year of Grace 2024 has dawned upon us. We welcome it with hope and deep reliance on the providence of God.
The year 2023 was a year of challenges and blessings. It was the best of time, it was the worst of time, borrowing from Charles Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities. But best of all, it was a time of a deep experience of the profound and unrelenting love of God for us as a parish community.
For the year 2024, we will continue to plod along with the help of His grace. We shall restore the desecrated Tabernacle with the help of generous parishioners. It will be a community effort.
We will continue with our Eucharistic Revival in the Parish. We will pursue the parish strategic planning with in light of the synodal goals and pastoral plan of the Diocese. We plan to embark on a three-year journey towards the 150th anniversary of the Parish in 2027.
In light of the Jubilee Year 2025 for the universal Church, we shall intensify our efforts to be a community of faith grounded on the three theological virtues of faith, hope and love.
I invite you all, my dear Parishioners, to brace ourselves for the great and wonderful yet exciting tasks that are ahead of us this new year of grace.
We place ourselves under the providence of the Most Blessed Trinity, beseeching the Holy Spirit to continue to guide our endeavors, asking the maternal guidance of Mary, Mother of the Church, and the powerful intercession of our patron, St. John the Baptist.
May the good Lord who has begun His good work in us bring it to completion.
Happy New Year to all. May God continue to bless you and keep you safe.
Msgr. Willie S. Manrique
